ONE of the more unusual events in the racing calendar is the annual reunion of the Exiles CC. This club brings together cyclists who served in the Suez Canal military zone during the 1940s and 1950s. One of these is Macclesfield Wheelers’ Terry Wesley. Now 73, Wesley has been cycling for 60 years. Not only a top rider in his day, with many club records to his name, Wesley was mechanic for the national junior squad, the Milk Race and the Tour of Britain, as well as being a mentor to current top pros David Millar and Bradley Wiggins.
